How To Save WPForms Entries In Tablesome?
Before following these steps you have to setup a form with the WPForms plugin. If you’ve not created a WordPress contact form with the WPForms Lite plugin. After setting up the WPForms form in the WordPress dashboard menu,,
- Go to Tablesome → Create New Table
- In the Create New Table page give the table a suitable title and move to the Triggers & Actions toolbar to create a WPForms Trigger
- In the Actions toolbar, under the Trigger 1 section select “WPForms” in the integrations field
- Then add “On Forms Submit” in the Types of Actions field and select the form from which you want to save the entries in the Forms field. Now a new section named Action (set 1) will be opened
- In the Actions select ‘Tablesome’ in the Integrations fields and then select the ‘Add Row’ in Actions
- You will see that the “Auto-detect other form fields” toggle option is pre-selected by default and it will show the number of fields that are detected from your WPForms form.
- When a new form is submitted, columns will be automatically created in the table and entries will be saved
- There is another option called ‘Manually Match Some Fields’, you can choose it if you want to save only select fields from your form
- Then click ‘Save Table’ to save the table and your WPForms entries would be saved to this table
- You can submit a test form to see if a form is successfully getting saved to the table
Besides saving your form entries, you also can View, Edit, and Delete the form entries.
Viewing Form Entries
- Your WPForms entries would automatically be saved to the Tablesome table that you’ve created
- You can go to your WordPress dashboard menu and go to Tablesome → All Tables. This ‘All Tables’ page is like the “Entries Overview Page”
- Here you can click to view the table you’ve created to save form entries
- This table would be your “Form Entries Page”.
- You could add another form to the same table by adding a 2nd Trigger to the table. But it is not recommended unless the forms are connected to each other.
Editing And Deleting The Form Entries
Not just viewing the form entries you can also manipulate the form entries, that is, edit and delete the form entries.
Editing Form Entries
- To edit the WPForms entries, go to Tablesome → All Tables
- Select the table that you want to edit
- You can directly select the table cell and edit the form entry
- Then click ‘Update Table’ to save the edit that you’ve made

Delete Form Entries
- If you want to delete all the WPForms entries, you can delete the table where the WPForms entries are saved
- To do this go to Tablesome → All Tables
- Near the table that you want to delete there will be a ‘Trash’ option
- Click the ‘Trash’ option and delete the table with WPForms entries
- If you want to delete a selective entry, go to the table where the entries are
- If you move the cursor towards the left of the 1st column you could see a ‘Menu’ icon
- Click the Menu icon and you can see a set of row control options
- In this set of row options, you can find the ‘Delete Row’ option
- Click Delete Row and the row that has the WPForms Entry would be deleted
- Option to select and bulk delete entries would be added in the upcoming versions of Tablesome
Searching and Filtering Entries
When you have a large set of form entries you would want to find a specific form entry by searching and filtering the form entries database.
To do this you can make use of the Search and Filter options available with Tablesome tables.
You can find the Search Bar and Filter options in the top left corner of the table. In the search bar, you can type in to find the data you want.
To filter the form entries,
- Go to the table and click the ‘Filter’
- Then click ‘Add A Filter’ and it will open the table filter option
- To add a filter select the column you want to filter in the 1st field
- In the 2nd field choose the operator and in the 3rd field give the value with which you want to filter the column rows.
Exporting The Saved WPForms Entries Manually
If you want to manually export the WPForms entries that were saved to your tables, there is an export option that you can use to export the WPForms entries. You can export the entries data in CSV and XLSX file format.
To do this click the ‘Export a Table’ in the Tablesome dashboard. If you are on any of the Tablesome pages, you can find the ‘Export Table’ button on top of the page.
In the export option, you can,
- Select the table in which your form entries are saved
- Then choose the format (CSV or XLSX) to export
- Select the type of Delimiter (comma, semicolon, or tabulator)
- Then click the ‘Export’ button
Automatically Export WPForms Entries to Mailchimp
When a form is submitted you might want to automatically export the contact information to an email marketing tool to automatically send follow-up emails to form submitters.
Tablesome helps you to integrate WPForms to Mailchimp, a popular email marketing tool so that when a WPForms form is submitted it is automatically sent and saved as a Mailchimp Contact.
To connect WPForms and Mailchimp you need to first generate a Mailchimp API Key. To generate an API key
- Go to the Mailchimp website and log in with your Mailchimp account, if you don’t already have an account create a new account and login into Mailchimp
- In the Mailchimp dashboard, scroll down to your profile picture and then select the profile.
- Then choose Extras -> API Keys.
- Here you will find the list of Generate API keys. If you have not generated an API key, then select “Create a Key”.
- Once done, just copy the key so that you can paste it into the WordPress site that you want to integrate.
- Then go to your WordPress site’s admin dashboard and paste the key in Tablesome Settings → Integrations → Mailchimp.
- After pasting the Key, click Connect to Mailchimp and it will be connected. Then save the settings.
- Next, go to the table in which you are saving the WPForms Entries or create a new table and setup an On Form Submit Trigger and select the form (see the “How to save WPForms entries” section for details)
- Then setup a second action Action for the WPForms On Forms Submit Trigger by clicking the “Add another section” button
- Here select Mailchimp integration and Add Contact action
- Then you can select the Mailchimp audience in which you want to save the contact and select the field which you want to export to Mailchimp
- You can also setup a condition if you don’t want to send every form that is submitted
- You can also add a Tag to the contact when it gets exported and then click the “Update Table” button
- We have successfully integrated WPForms and Mailchimp and your contact will be automatically exported when a new form is submitted
How to Display WPForms Form Entries on WordPress Posts and Pages?
Now that we have seen how to save form entries to tables, you also might want to display the WPForms entries on WordPress pages and posts.
To display form entries you can use the Tablesome shortcode displayed under the table title.
- Copy the table shortcode that is displayed and go to the page or post where you want to display the form entries
- Add a shortcode block in the block editor and paste the table shortcode
- Then publish and check the page. Your WPForms entries table will be displayed on the WordPress frontend on posts and pages.
- Even as new form entries are being submitted they will be automatically added and displayed on the table.
Creating A Shortcode with Tablesome Shortcode Builder
You can also create a custom shortcode to customize your tables using the Tablesome Shortcode Builder.
To access the Shortcode Builder,
- Go to the page/post where you want to display the WPForms entries
- Search for the Tablesome Shortcode block and add it to the page
- In this block, you can find options to customize the display of your WPForms Entries table
- You can hide any of the columns, change the pagination limit, and enable or disable table options
- Choose your preferences and save the shortcode
- Publish the page and your customized WPForms entries table will be displayed
Styling the table
You might want to change the style of the table with WPForms entries to match your site.
